Weekend in Woodville

I know I always say how much I don't want to go home. My apologies to anyone reading this who is wondering why I go back and forth so much. In all honesty, I debated not going home, but I just left town early Saturday morning for home and came back early Sunday afternoon. I promise there was a purpose for my visit home this weekend.

Earlier last week, my twin, Hunter, asked if I wanted to come to watch him pitch in his scrimmage. Even though it wasn't a real game, I wanted to be there to support him. When he pitches in the spring season, I usually have class, or he is far away. It is rare for him to be pitching a home game on the weekend. Hunter set out an Owens Community College Baseball sweatshirt for me to wear, which was sweet. He barely missed any of my basketball games last season, so I know it meant the world to him for me to drive down to support him. I thought he pitched great! My dad and I were a little worried after watching his warmup, but he did great.

On top of watching my twin pitch, my younger brother, Chase, played football three minutes away from Hunter's college. Chase has never played football until this fall. I have always wanted him to play football, but he never has been an aggressive kid. Neither one of my brothers has shown an instinct to want to go tackle someone else. I normally say I was the kid who got all the aggressive instincts. His team lost by a ton, but he played so well! He played fearlessly, and I could tell he was having fun. In the end, all I want for him is to enjoy whatever he chooses to do in life.

Aside from watching my brothers' games, I saw my parents and grandparents. It was great to catch up with my grandparents. I am blessed with my grandparents. They are always at my games or award ceremonies. Honestly, it is hard to think of an important chapter of my life they missed. They have been by my side through it all. I can't forget about the importance of spending time with my parents. While at college, it can be easy to only call them to ask for help or to complain. This weekend we spent quality time together, which is more valuable than anything else.
