The first thing I think of when I hear about the app Pinterest is moms. Moms are all over Pinterest. Personally, my mom and grandmother cannot stay off it. They are always finding a new recipe or gadget for the family. When I was younger, my friends and I would find sleepover ideas on the app. We would look for the craziest Duct Tape craft ideas and try to tackle them. I don't know how well we succeeded, but we sure helped increase Duct Tape sales.  Pinterest allows businesses to market their products in a system called carousel. Carousel is a pin with multiple images that can show different angles, designs or uses of a product. It gives consumers a more in-depth analysis of the product before they go visit the website. I think carousel is a great marketing technique for businesses to use. Some consumers may not be impressed by the one image that is shown in their feed, but an array of images could catch their eye more. I find it easy to get caught up in scrolling aimlessly through...

Is Instagram Really Listening to Us?

Instagram is a social media platform that I am far more familiar with compared to Facebook. I opened my Instagram account when I was in middle school, but I am inconsistent with my posts. Some months I will post two or three times, and then I can go two or three months without posting anything. Instagram has a lot of pressure around it to post a photoshopped selfie with two filters on it got, and all I could think was who cares? My family and I have this joke that our phones are listening to us. I have countless examples of us talking about a certain topic or pr...

People do not seem to care that they are driving on the road if it means they can check a snapchat or a comment on their post. Social media has even taken over the business world. The problem is determining whether or not that is good for companies. Social media may seem like the next big thing, but it is causing a ton of issues in the business industry. Navigating social media is not an easy task to handle. Michelle Charello made note that a lot of experienced businessmen and women are lost when it comes to social media. This makes it even harder for companies to hire quality workers who were well rounded in their field of interest. In addition social media requires around the clock monitoring. Companies are creating new positions that focus only on social media. The negative feedback learned from social media can take companies off-guard and cause issues that were not there to s...
