Strategic with Social Media Marketing Campaigns

Social media marketing campaigns are the base for companies looking to achieve a marketing or business goal in today's world. The days of paying for a billboard or radio ad are nearly diminished. I have talked frequently about how social media has taken over the world, and it is so true.

Social media marketing campaigns are carefully planned and executed by a team. It is imperative that the campaigns have a start and end date to ensure consistent productivity. A campaign’s team members are delegated specific tasks within the total campaign. Social media marketing campaigns can be created by large companies like Nabisco or smaller companies like a local boutique. When creating a campaign, teams use the AIDA model. The AIDA model stands for attention, interest, desire and action. These attributes help reveal the best ways to appeal to the target audiences. When the target audiences are reached, it is only a matter of time before the company will see the true effects of its campaign.

This year, I have worked on over 10 group projects. Each project proposed unique complications or road bumps to overcome. The same can happen in a social media marketing campaign. If the group doesn't efficiently communicate with one another, content may be delayed or inconsistent. In addition, groups must work together to address any feedback from the public. The public is not always welcoming to new campaigns from companies. Social media has given today's world free access to express its opinions. When planning a campaign, companies need to have a plan of action to address negative feedback. Negative feedback can be great in reassessing the plan of the campaign they created and effectively work on future campaigns.

Social media marketing campaigns are a tool that is essential for companies to optimize today. It is crazy to drive down the highway and see blank billboards, but it is the truth. Whether it was the effect of time or Covid-19, the world has gone virtual. As a society, we are influenced by the content on the Internet. It is only appropriate for companies to focus their development on social media as well.

  1. I honestly thought billboards would be gone a couple years prior to Covid just because everything was online. But I do agree that Covid played a part in them disappearing but that makes sense considering that most business have moved to the internet.
