Girls Weekend in G Town

This weekend, I got the joy of traveling down to Germantown, Ohio with my friend Abby. It took us forever to decide we were going to make the trip, but I am so glad that we went. Germantown is close to two hours away from ONU. After our game at John Carroll, which was in Cleveland, we packed our bags fast and were on the road again. 

Abby and I stayed at her childhood home, but we weren't there much the next day. We started the day by going to her church. The church is absolutely beautiful, and I was lucky to meet a lot of very important people in her life. After church, we went to her boyfriend's house for lunch. His mom is an amazing cook! Abby had a zoom call in the afternoon so we didn't stay too long. During her zoom call, I was supposed to be doing my homework, but I took a nap instead. Abby's aunt is moving out of her apartment and needed help carrying cardboard boxes from U-Haul so we headed over to help in the afternoon. Abby is not a coffee fan, but she insisted we headed over to Starbucks after to buy a cake pop. This day was packed with activities, and to top it all off, we went to a Super Bowl party at her family friend's house. I was extremely disappointed that the Bengals lost, but it's a good thing I am a Green Bay Packers fan at heart. 

College is crazy and overwhelming at times, but I am so grateful for the people it has brought into my life. Abby is not just a great teammate, she is an incredible friend. I cannot wait to take her to my hometown!

    Napping instead of homework is such a mood! I love random trips with my friends. My freshman year a group of us went all the way to Cincinnati to find the best root beer in the state! Good friends definitely make this crazy time so much better!

    Your weekend sounded like so much fun! And taking a nap is also very nice when you need it. Also, I LOVE Abby and I am so happy that you introduce her to me and I can agree that she is an incredible friend to have! I can't wait until we hangout again and go on another adventure with each other or going to one of our hometowns who knows what will happen!

    I am so happy that you decided to take a trip to Germantown with me. I enjoyed showing you around my hometown. We had so much fun, and I cannot wait to make more memories with you. You are an incredible friend and even better person. I hope to one day take a trip to your hometown also!

College seems to be a never-ending flood of assignments, due dates, games, events and so much more. How does one keep it all together without forgetting? My solution is the sticky note method. While this may seem extreme to some, and by extreme I mean my roommate looked at me like I was crazy when I bought the biggest pack of sticky notes at Walmart, it helps give me piece of mind. I keep a pack of sticky notes in my desk drawer and my pencil pouch. The one in my pencil pouch is used for taking last minute notes in class and for adding to my homework list. The one in my desk drawer is for my to-do list and reminders. Each night I write out an entire to-do list for the next day to plan my day. When I started the sticky note method this semester, I found myself constantly rewriting my tasks to try to make them fit. The best advice I can give is if it doesn't fit on the sticky note, then it can wait. I have a do-it-all personality, so I struggle with telling myself that I am doing too

Fast Freshman Year

My freshman year of college went by way faster than I could have ever imagined. Looking back, I want to cry at the thought of not seeing my closest friends for the next three months. When I first came to ONU, I missed home. I found myself calling my family members, friends and even my old coaches. I was refusing to let go of the life I had left behind. My life at home was comfortable for me. College was full of uncertainty and was quite overwhelming. How was I supposed to be friends with all these random people? The people of ONU have left an everlasting mark on me. The other day, one of my classes was discussing why people stay here. I quickly told my professor the people here are unlike anyone I have ever met. I have made friends across all majors and athletic teams on campus. Everyone on campus supports one another. Swinging into Spring Basketball

It feels like yesterday my first collegiate basketball season ended, but I find myself with virtually a full schedule again. Spring basketball events are all optional, but my team truly loves being together in the gym. I was so excited to see everyone at our first open gym. I think it is funny how much we didn't realize that we missed each other. Basketball season is very long and demanding. Aside from class, we spend almost every hour of our days together. It felt weird to go to class and not have practice afterward. After our first open gym, we went to dinner together and took over an entire room in the engineering building. We had so much to tell one another. Personally, I missed laughing until my stomach hurt. My teammates are joys to be around. We started voluntary conditioning this week.
