College Life can be Sticky

College seems to be a never-ending flood of assignments, due dates, games, events and so much more. How does one keep it all together without forgetting? My solution is the sticky note method. While this may seem extreme to some, and by extreme I mean my roommate looked at me like I was crazy when I bought the biggest pack of sticky notes at Walmart, it helps give me piece of mind. I keep a pack of sticky notes in my desk drawer and my pencil pouch. The one in my pencil pouch is used for taking last minute notes in class and for adding to my homework list. The one in my desk drawer is for my to-do list and reminders. Each night I write out an entire to-do list for the next day to plan my day. When I started the sticky note method this semester, I found myself constantly rewriting my tasks to try to make them fit.

The best advice I can give is if it doesn't fit on the sticky note, then it can wait. I have a do-it-all personality, so I struggle with telling myself that I am doing too much. The sticky note method has forced me learn that I can take my time with certain tasks. Looking at the two sticky notes on my computer, four on my desk and two in my pencil pouch, I can see how this may seem extreme to some. Honestly, I do not know how I would function without them. College is a sticky mess. It tests every student on different levels, but students have to adapt and persevere. Give sticky notes a shot and see just how much they can give you piece of mind.

  1. OH MY GOSH!!!! If it doesn't fit on a sticky note it can wait! That is an absolutely incredible idea! I am also a do-it-all and overwhelmed-by-it-all personality. I might have to try it!!! Thank you for sharing.

  2. I love using sticky notes to write down reminders/ideas or anything pops up in to my mind. I think if I had that many sticky notes around me though, I would probably go insane! But I know my sticky notes really do help even though I don't have that many. It helps me stay on task, reminds me of something that I need to get done, or just putting some quotes on it to get me through my day! Love the blog about sticky notes! Haha:)

  5. Sticky notes are definitely a great way to take notes and keeping organized. I have tried it in the past and it is not the best for me as an individual, but I think it is great that it works for you!
